Sleepover

Hey!
Its Ruthie! And guess who came to live with my cousins (webkinzsatruday) last week? McKenna! Yes, girl of the year 2012, the gymnast! And she is sooo fun and awesome. I just got back from sleeping over her house last night. McKenna planned to have a sleepover for her birthday, and it didn't really go as planned. But that's a long story, and I'll start at the beginning. She invited me and my best friend Kit, Pippa, Rebecca, and Lydia. But then, this crazy girl named Kanani showed up and this annoying girl from school came too. Oh, and Kit and I found out a secret about McKenna by reading her diary. Also, school started! I'm in Miss E's class, which is kind of awkward. She is kind of crazy and is married to a horse. My parents were very surprised to figure out about the strange 4th grade class I had. But, she is the only teacher, so I can't switch classes... anyway I wouldn't want to because it is hilarious! I have my BFFLs in my class, Kit, Kanani, Pippa, and McKenna! Felicity sort of! We talk all the time during class, besides when we are doing our spelling and math! (I have got to get that award!)
I made the cheerleading team at my school with Felicity, Kanani, and Lydia! I'm so excited! At first, McKenna didn't want me to try out because I would have to leave gymnastics, but I love cheer.
By the way, McKenna's house is SOOO cool. Webkinzsatruday made the loft bed and lots of McKenna's other items! Check out her channel!

The Hunger Games!

Hey its Ruthie! And I saw the midnight premiere of The Hunger Games! At first, I was way to scared to read the Hunger Games, and watch the movie. But, my sisters are so obsessed with it that they finally convinced me to read it. I was SOOOOOOOO scared but then I loved it! I finished The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay in a whole day! I went to the theater at 3:00 that day with Josefina, Kirsten, Samantha, Rebecca, and McKenna to be there and get a seat in the theater. I was the 63rd person there. In case you haven't read the Hunger Games, it is about The Hunger Games takes place after the destruction of North America by some unknown apocalyptic event, in a nation known as Panem. Panem consists of a wealthy Capitol and twelve surrounding, poorer districts. District 12, where the book begins, is located in the coal-rich region that was formerly Appalachia.^[8]

As punishment for a previous rebellion against the Capitol in which a 13th district was destroyed, one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district are selected by annual lottery to participate in the Hunger Games, an event in which the participants (or "tributes") must fight in an outdoor arena controlled by the Capitol, until only one remains. The story follows 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, a girl from District 12 who volunteers for the 74th annual Hunger Games in place of her younger sister, Primrose. Also selected from District 12 is Peeta Mellark, a baker's son whom Katniss knows from school, who once gave her bread when her family was starving.

Katniss and Peeta are taken to the Capitol where their drunken mentor, Haymitch Abernathy, victor of the 50th Hunger Games, instructs them to watch and learn the talents of the other tributes. They are then publicly displayed to the Capitol audience in a televised session with interviewer Caesar Flickerman. During this time, Peeta reveals on-air his long-time unrequited love for Katniss. Katniss believes this to be a ploy to gain audience support for the Games, which can be crucial for survival, as audience members are encouraged to send gifts like food, medicine, and tools to favored tributes during the Games. The Games begin with 11 of the 24 tributes dying in the first day, while Katniss relies on her well-practiced hunting and outdoor skills to survive. As the games continue, the tribute death toll increases. A few days later, Katniss develops an alliance with Rue, a 12-year-old girl from the agricultural District 11 who reminds Katniss of her sister Prim. The alliance is short-lived: Rue is killed by another tribute. At Rue's request Katniss sings to her, then spreads flowers over her body as a sign of respect—and of disgust towards the Capitol.

Supposedly due to Katniss and Peeta's beloved image in the minds of the audience as "star-crossed lovers", a rule change is announced midway through the Games, stating that two tributes from the same district can win the Hunger Games as a pair. Upon hearing this, Katniss searches for Peeta and eventually finds him wounded. As she nurses him back to health, she acts the part of a young girl falling in love to gain more favor with the audience and, consequently, gifts from her sponsors. When the couple are finally the last two tributes, the Gamemakers reverse the rule change in an attempt to force them into a dramatic finale, where one must kill the other to win. Katniss, knowing that the Gamemakers would rather have two victors than none, retrieves highly poisonous berries known as "nightlock" from her pouch and offers some to Peeta. Upon realizing that Katniss and Peeta intend to commit suicide, the Gamemakers announce that both will be the victors of the 74th Hunger Games.

Although she survives the ordeal in the arena and is treated to a hero's welcome in the Capitol, Katniss is warned by Haymitch that she has now become a political target after defying her society's authoritarian leaders so publicly. Afterwards, Peeta is heartbroken when he learns that Katniss's actions in the arena were part of a calculated ploy to earn sympathy from the audience. However, Katniss is unsure of her own feelings, and realizes that she is dreading the moment when she and Peeta will go their separate ways. It was an awesome movie, and book! All of the AG dolls should read it! It is now my favorite book series!

Cheer

Hey, hey, hey!
It's Ruthie!♥ As you probably know, my sister, Samantha, is a cheerleader! She is a flyer, and she can even do front and back handsprings! Yesterday when Sam was practicing back tucks on the trampoline, she told me cheerleading tryouts were coming up, and I should join. After all, all of my sisters cheer and I was the only one not to try it yet! Rebecca, Josefina, and Kirsten are all bases. Sam is the best cheerleader out of all of them, but don't tell the other girls I said that! I would like to be a flyer like Sam. By the way, I just got my handstand! Sam is the captain of the cheerleading team so she gets to choose who makes the team. She HAS to pick me. I'm sooo excited!!! To make the team you have to be able to do curtain tumbling moves, and perform a cheer. The other girls are using our school team cheer, but I decided to make up one of my own…

I showed it to Sam, complete with the arm movements. She said... "um, that's great, Ruthie."

Ice Skating Adventures!

Hey, Hey, Hey! Can you guess where I, Ruthie, went today? vvv

Guess what? I went ice skating at Rockerfeller Center! At first, I was really scared. I had never skated before, and when I first got on the ice with Laura, Sarah, and Kanani, I fell down right away! I almost gave up on skating, but I caught on fast. Soon, I could skate amazingly! I could even do a spin! Check out the photo of me and Kanani on the ice! ^^^
It was super duper fun! I was wearing my birthday skirt, because, obviously, it was my tenth birthday! After we skated we went to American Girl Place for lunch. So fun! I love ice skating and can't wait to go again! vv Me at AGP

How I Met Justin Bieber

Hey, Hey, Hey!
Its Ruthie! I had a very, um, eventful day today. It all started this morning when I woke up to my sister, Sam, screaming. I sleep the latest of my family, so this morning was just like the others. All of my sisters were standing in my bedroom, dressed in purple. I climbed out of bed in my PINK pajamas, which is my favorite color. However, purple would have to be my second. "I told you Sam, I don't like Justin Bieber!" Rebecca sighed from the corner of the room. She was only wearing a purple scarf, obviously from Samantha's closet. "You guys, what is going on?" I asked, sleepy. "Samantha won 5 tickets to a Justin Bieber concert! AHH!" Kirsten explained. "What? When?" I wondered, suddenly alert. "Tonight!" "Count me out," said Rebecca. I dressed up in purple with a touch of pink and followed Josefina down the city streets to the concert arena. We were finally there when - "AHHHHH! JUSTIN BIEBER!" Fifty American Girls ran right past us, chasing a purple hat... OMG that was Justin Bieber! I joined the mob when suddenly... suddenly....

"RUTHIE, ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION????!!!!!!" I opened my eyes to find my teacher, Miss B, staring in to my eyes. "What is the answer to #6?" "Um.... uh...." I searched my mind for an answer. I couldn't believe I wasn't paying attention in class again! "One more time and you will get detention!" Miss B yelled. I sighed and *tried* to pay attention for the rest of class. I have an extremely active imagination. Its super cool - when used at the right times. One minute I'm in school, and the next, I'm somewhere else, someone else, in a totally cool new situation! Finally when I got home, I went over my best friend (besides Kit and Pippa), McKenna's house. She had just gotten back from gymnastics, and showed me some of her skills. I can almost do a cartwheel... Imagine if I was a champion gymnast?! :)

You can follow my adventures every day on my blog. I love to write, and my imagination gives me plenty of ideas! Maybe one day I will go to a Justin Bieber concert... I've got to go see what Samantha is up to... bye bye!
